The Chateau owned and run
by Catherine and Ivan Fizaine is a fabulous
owned French Chateau recently very tastefully renovated with a Tuscan theme. Each room is
individually decorated with its
own theme. We stayed in the Chambre Jaune, which has a
view from the second floor over the gardens and pool area.
Ivan served breakfast to us on
the terrace looking over the gardens served by Ivan was peaceful
and just relaxing.
I good place to
stay for a few days, to relax, while having access to the
interesting wine region and Macon where we found great
restaurants including

The Logis de Saint Vincent is an hotel characteristic of the 19th century, built of quarried stone, and now transformed into an hotel-restaurant, full of character. The room are grand in style, each with character and a balance between a tradtional 18th/19th century furniture and and the modern showers and flat screen TV, plus WiFi.

20 minutes walk from
the Siena town walls

Sitting in the garden and balcony
if front of the hotel with a Campari or glass of Prosecco you
can look over the town of Siena, on the other hill as the sun
sets.
The well
appointed hotel has more modern larger traditional Italian
bedroom. Very comfortable hotel with plenty of space of
let the children run while the adults can relax.
Being so
close to the town of Siena you have plenty of restaurants if you
prefer to have a walk in the evening.
Siena is a
great base to explore the rest of Tuscany - Florence, Pisa and
the many walled hill towns.

Montague is a town to stop off in
as you are heading east or west. The Mismosa Lodge was a
memorable stop off point. The main lodge is a bit of a
rikaty old (Cowboy Western Style) hotel with creaky wooden
stairs and floor boards. A place of real character.
The also have more modern rooms towards to be back of the lodge.
What
made it a special stop off point was the welcome and friendly
host, owner and chef Bernhard.
We had a relaxing pre-dinner drink with the other guests in the
club, followed by dinner.
The route
coming from Worchester towards Montague A60 and then A62 is a
very picturesque route pass from the plains coming from
Worchester and plunge down through very rugged gorges and canyon
towards Montague, passing though a beautiful arch cut in
the side of the gorge where the road passes through.

This is something special. Unique, and
I am not one to use the words lightly. Location and food
are west coast 6 Star, only because the bet 5 star does not
match it. The best restaurant and accommodation in Scotland
if you want to get away.

Very comfortable
B&B. This is a recently renovated (re-developed) Wee-Free
Church that had sat derelict for many years. It has been
tastefully been redecorated, with each room being en-suite.
Great stopping off point to and from Skye, Loch Carron,
Inverness.
